Chat with your child's teachers (ClassChat)

If you don't see this

• It needs the Chat permission on your child's account. A director grants it under the child's connected users.

ClassChat has two conversations per child:

• ClassChat: every teacher in your child's current classroom can read and reply.
• Families: only assistant directors and above see it. Teachers cannot.

Steps

1. On My Day, tap ClassChat. A badge shows unread messages.

2. Choose ClassChat or Families at the top.

3. Tap your child's conversation.
4. Type in Type a message... and send. Use the attachment button to add a photo from Camera, Photo Library or Files.

Tips

• Files must be 10 MB or smaller.
• Some classrooms set chat hours. Outside them you see "Teacher unavailable. Tap to see chat hours." You can still send; teachers read it during their hours.

Troubleshooting

• No ClassChat card. You need the Chat permission, and ClassChat must be turned on for your child's classroom.
• "This child is not in a classroom. Please use Families chat instead." Use Families until the school assigns a classroom.
