The Payment type card sits on the Rate schedule page. Use Payroll Deduction when a staff member's child's tuition is withheld from their paycheck.
Before you start
Steps
- On the Rate schedule page, find Payment type.

The Payment type card on the Rate schedule page - Leave Private Pay ("Family pays in full"), or tap Payroll Deduction.
- Enter the amount withheld. Weekly schedules ask for the weekly amount; monthly and twice-a-month schedules ask for the full monthly amount. Tap Confirm.
- The card now reads, for example, "[amount] withheld from the paycheck each month", and the total shows "After [amount] payroll deduction". Tap Change amount to edit it.
- To stop the deduction, tap Private Pay.
Tips
- When scholarships cover the whole schedule, the card shows Scholarship ("Fully covered by scholarship") and there is nothing to choose.
- Payroll deductions are tracked for reconciliation like scholarships. See Reconcile scholarships, vouchers and payroll deductions.
Troubleshooting
- "Payroll deduction too large". The deduction can't exceed the schedule total.
