Archive a chat conversation

If you don't see this

• It needs the ClassChat permission. A director grants it under Manage School → Staff → Permissions.

Archiving hides a finished conversation from the list without deleting it.

Before you start

• Finish Open ClassChat first.

Archive a Families conversation (assistant directors and above)

1. On the Families tab, swipe the conversation left.
2. Tap Archive. It is archived straight away.

Archive a conversation for a child with no classroom

When a child leaves their classroom, their ClassChat becomes read-only with the banner "This child is not in a classroom. Please use Families chat instead."

1. Open the conversation.
2. Tap Archive Conversation, then Archive.

Tips

• An archived classroom conversation comes back if the child joins a classroom and new messages are sent.
