If you don't see this

• It needs the ClassChat permission. A director grants it under Manage School → Staff → Permissions.

If your school sets chat hours, teachers can read ClassChat at any time but can only send to families during the hours.

Before you start

• Finish Message a family in ClassChat first.

What you'll see

• The message box is replaced by "You cannot chat with parents outside of your hours. Tap to view available hours."

• Tap it (or the moon icon at the top) to see Chat Available Times.

What parents see

• A banner, "Teacher unavailable. Tap to see chat hours." Parents can still send messages; you'll see them when your hours start.

Tips

• There are a few minutes of grace before and after each window.
• Staff chats are not affected by chat hours.
