Open ClassChat

ClassChat is Asilo's messaging for parents and staff. Staff without the ClassChat permission see only Staff Chat, for messages between colleagues.

Steps​

  1. Open chat:
    • Teachers on a phone: tap the ClassChat tab (or Staff Chat).
    • Everyone else, and on the web: open My Day and tap the ClassChat card (or Staff Chat).

  2. Pick a tab:
    • ClassChat: one conversation per child, shared by all teachers in the child's classroom.
    • Families: private conversations with families, for assistant directors and above.
    • Staff: direct and group messages with other staff.

  3. Tap the unread icon (Show unread only) to hide read conversations.

Tips​

  • On ClassChat and Families, use Search children... to find a child.
  • Directors see every classroom. Teachers and assistant directors see the classrooms they are assigned to.

Troubleshooting​

  • "ClassChat Not Available". None of your classrooms has chat turned on. A director turns on Chat in the classroom's settings.
  • Only a Staff tab. Your account does not have the ClassChat permission.
