Add a parent, guardian, or other adult to a child

If you don't see this

• It needs the My School permission. A director grants it under Manage School → Staff → Permissions.

Each adult connected to a child gets the permissions of the type you pick. You can fine-tune them afterwards.

Before you start

• Finish Open a child's profile first.

Steps

1. Open the child's profile and tap Connected Users.
2. Tap + and choose Guardian, View Only User, Emergency Contact, or Approved Pickup.

3. Enter an Email Address or Phone Number and tap Next.

4. If the adult already has an Asilo account, User Found asks "Do you want to connect them?". Tap Request.
5. Fill in First Name, Last Name, and Relationship. Add phone, email, Add Home Address, or Add Workplace as needed.
6. Review Permissions, then tap Save.

Tips

• Guardian gives full access. View Only User can see the child's day, posts, billing, Schoolbox, and chat but cannot invite others or pick up.
• The adult receives an invitation. Someone with no name on file yet shows as Invitation Sent.

Troubleshooting

• "Phone or email is required". Enter at least one.
• "Email or phone is already in use." You tapped Cancel on User Found. Start again and tap Request to connect the existing account.
