Turn a progress report into a prose report

If you don't see this

• It needs the Progress Reports permission. A director grants it under Manage School → Staff → Permissions.

A prose report is a written summary of a child's progress, drafted for you from the scores and notes in a progress report.

Before you start

• Score at least part of a progress report. See Score a progress report.

Steps

1. Open the child's progress reports: Toolkit → Progress Reports → the child.
2. Tap +, then Prose.
3. Under "Which Progress Report should we use to create a prose?", tap the report.

4. Review the scored areas, then tap Generate Prose.

5. The Prose Report opens with the generated text. Read and edit it before sharing. See Edit and share a prose report.

Tips

• Only scored benchmarks are used. The more you score and the more notes you add, the richer the prose.
• Generated prose appears under the Prose tab of the child's reports.

Troubleshooting

• "Cannot Generate Prose". The report has no scores yet.
