Add questions and show them conditionally

If you don't see this

• It needs the Surveys permission. A director grants it under Manage School → Staff → Permissions.
• Your school must have Surveys turned on. It's a school setting, ask your director.

Each question has a type, text, and an optional required flag. Questions can also be hidden until an earlier answer matches a rule.

Before you start

• Finish Create a survey first.

Question types

• Text Response: a free-text answer.
• Multiple Choice: pick one option.
• Checkbox (Multiple Select): pick any number of options.
• Quantity Select: enter a number for each option.
• Rating (1-5 Stars)
• Scale (1-10)
• Yes/No
• NPS (Net Promoter Score): the standard 0–10 "how likely are you to recommend" question. Its wording is fixed and cannot be edited.

The Question Type list

Steps

1. In the Questions step, tap Add Question and choose a type.
2. Type the question in Question Text.
3. For Multiple Choice, Checkbox, and Quantity Select, edit the options and tap Add Option for more.
4. Turn on Required if families must answer it.
5. To show the question only after certain answers, turn on Conditional Display, then set If (an earlier question), Operator, and Value. Tap Add Condition for more rules and choose Match: ALL or ANY.

6. Tap Save.

Tips

• Tap a question card to edit it. The ⋯ menu in Edit Question has Duplicate Question and Delete Question.
• Conditional Display is only available from the second question on, because it needs an earlier question to check.
